Letter Writing with Lindsay
Your Letter-Writing Partner
Dear You,
In a world that's moving too fast, communicating emotion has never been more important. Your love is the greatest asset of this life, and your written words are in more demand than you realize.
I help people with valuable relationships write what I call Forever Letters. These are letters that get saved because when it comes to net worth, these letters are treasure. Our written words have the power to ignite emotions, provide comfort, strengthen connection, heal pain and inspire hope. Memories are tricky—fading and changing with time—but words can be precisely preserved.
As a lifelong letter writer, former English teacher and natural empath, this work is my honor and joy. Let's connect.

Articulating emotions in writing
doesn't come easily for all,
but it's what I do best.
Kinds of Forever Letters...
Whether you are planning for end-of-life or wanting to capture some aspect of your lived experience, forever-letter-writing tends to be overwhelmingly positive, important, purposeful, relieving, and (surprisingly) fun. You'll gain:
Inner calm is the result of knowing that your sentiments are thoughtfully expressed. Specifically for Legacy Letters, knowing that the aftermath of your death will be punctuated (for them) with your personal connection is a relief.
Prepare to discover a deeper, soul-level connection with your person once you've landed on actual words that explain your feelings. The closeness comes from reflecting on and articulating who you consider your person to be and what your relationship means to you.
Forever Letter writing organically unearths many spots of gratitude, and that simple awareness of your gratitude is profoundly positive.

I'm happy to share examples of letters I've written after we've connected on a Discovery Call. Because of the highly personal nature of my clients' letters, and my commitment to maintaining confidentiality, examples are restricted to my personal letters. My writing can be found on my Substack and YouTube channel.
The aftermath of death, for the grieving survivors, is largely administrative, and the focus is mostly on one kind of worth—one’s net worth: assets, estate, ownership, inheritance, etc. There's a huge gaping hole when it comes to personal worth: the value of who you’ve been, and how you’ve loved, and the worth of your unique parent-child relationship. Wills, by design, are void of emotion. And yet, emotions are, arguably, the most valuable part of human life.
Including a Foever Letter in your end-of-life planning, shines light on and honors a lifetime of parental love, devotion and connection. And it enables your voice and sentiments to guide your child through the process of estate administration after your death.
Great question! You'd think it should be. The truth is that a love letter is not a legal matter. Lawyers must keep emotions out of the will entirely. Trust and estate plans and directives must be black and white; and emotions, by nature, live in the grays of life. After writing your Forever Letter, you can request that your lawyer keeps it as a "side letter" that gets delivered alongside the will. Or, alternatively, my recommendation is that you keep a distinct folder or fireproof safe at home that your next of kin knows to open at the time of your passing. Your Forever Letter can live there until it's read by the intended recipient.
Well, sort of. Ethical wills, also referred to as legacy letters, are a place to capture one’s personal values, beliefs, love, gratitude and apologies. And the practice of writing them has existed for millennia, but is an uncommon practice in the modern age of end-of-life preparations. But the practice of encapsulating one’s experience of parenthood in a direct love letter to one’s child is a practice that some think to do independently, but it's not protocol with will and estate planning. (Will & Estate Lawyers typically aren't interested in or equipped to handle the emotional side of death—I've asked many of them, and they're the first to say it.)
The term Forever Letter is one that I've coined, and my hope is to normalize love letter writing as part of end-of-life planning. To learn more, I describe the genesis of Forever Letters here. And I open up about my experience of writing Forever Letters to my three kids here.
Each letter option outlines the price for (1) letter with one recipient. That's because each recipient of a Forever Letter requires their own 2-hour Zoom call to gather all the details of the relationship that are required to write the letter. For each requested sibling letter, clients receive a $100 discount on listed pricing.
Let's talk and see if we're meant to be letter-writing partners. Connect directly with me via email at connect@theeverwell.com or by scheduling a free Discovery Call below.
